Taliban Pashto App Removed From Google Play Store |
An app for Android cell phones, created by radical group Taliban to appeal to visitors to its cause, has been taken off Google's Play Store.
An software created by the Taliban has been taken off the Yahoo Play store.
This content of the software - Alemarah - in the Pashto terminology, included formal claims and videos from the Afghan movements.
The iphone app "is part of your advanced technological work to make more global audience," Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahed advised Bloomberg.
The iphone app was however, most understandably, removed since it violated a Google software insurance policy which prohibits hate conversation.
It was reported and uncovered by a US-based organisation called Site Intel Group which monitors militant activity.
Google dropped to touch upon specific software issues.
"Our policies are made to give a great experience for users and creators. That is why we remove programs from Yahoo Play that violate those guidelines," it said in a assertion.
App stores, internet sites and other websites often face the task of deciding which kind of content to eliminate and what things to leave only. Though careful never to step on the feet of free talk, many sites have regulations banning content they consider terrorist propaganda or hate conversation.
